How many languages does Journey Pal support?
34, including te reo Māori. A venue publishes the ones its visitors actually need rather than all of them, and can add more at any time without changing signage.
How does a visitor get the right language?
The guide reads the language the visitor's phone is set to and opens the matching version where the venue has published one. A visible switcher covers anyone whose phone setting is not the language they want.
What happens if we have not published a visitor's language?
They get the venue's main language rather than an error. Adding their language later is a content change, not a rebuild, so venues often start with three or four and extend once they can see which ones visitors are selecting.
Can we add a language that is not on this list?
Ask. The list reflects what is supported today rather than a technical ceiling, and the practical constraints are translation and having someone who can review the result.
Do we need separate signage for each language?
No. One QR code serves every language you publish, so the printed sign stays the same however many you add.
Not sure which languages you need?
Most venues overestimate how many they need at launch and underestimate how much their local language gets used. Starting with three or four and extending on real usage data works better than committing to twelve up front.
